People get mouth to say wetin they like o!

People get mouth to say wetin they like o! Having spent many an hour reading comments and blogging on this highly sensitive subject of Nigerians in diaspora not returning home, I have come to the conclusion that each one of our beloved kinsmen living abroad have cogent reason for staying away. It is truth that no Nigerian will totally forget his home or roots in Nigeria wherever one is. That is one place that tugs at one's heart-strings irrespective of geographical location. Once you have been there (whether you were dragged there; kicking and screaming by returning parents), born there or simply visited on a whim, the place will call you back. Now whether one returns or not within a certain time frame is in significant for each man's experience of Naija is unique. It is much more important to ensure that the country reaches some kind of political and economic stability to encourage Nigerians in diaspora to return. When hospitals are well equipped and staffed by qualified doctors (most of whom live and work abroad as highly qualified and paid professionals), when electricity supplies are constant, when clean water runs from taps and the basic amenities are easily accessible by all and sundry in most Nigerian towns perhaps then, some of our brothers and sisters living abroad will happily return. It is wrong to deduce that anyone will leave their country to willingly live in a place that does not offer them the satisfaction and joy Nigeria could offer. Consider that these places we find ourselves are not 'the land of milk and honey' but simply a place that offers mediocre management and survival. To return to Nigeria for some people might mean raising loads of money to even live the kind of lifestyle they already live abroad. Therefore, it is not by choice that they remain in the countries they have chosen to call 'home' temporarily. Just a thought...

I'd really like to hear from anyone who knows where 1980's Nigeria's ex Faze 2 DJ Chuks (The Duke) is! He also used to DJ for Lord's nite club, Caban Numero Uno and what's the name of the club around Oju-elegba, Surulere? Ace...that's the one!

Naija Bruvs? Why Go Home To Marry?

It's a question you either ask yourself or ask others... A rather big, mysterious question! A question that is often directed at either gender but which is in this case directed at the Naija male!Yep! Why do our UK based, men decide to fly into Naija to find themselves a so-called wife? What exactly are they desiring to find in these women that our UK based naija sisters are lacking? In my opinion, the typical naija man who follows this trait is either blind, insecure or has been bitten by bad experience that makes him conclude all our sisters are bad, rotten to the core and elusive. He is the kind of guy who has had his time of fun dating and messing with great potential women who would have married him. The fact that one apple was bad does not mean that all the others will be spoilt rotten too. He flies home to spend money he would not have spent on a woman in the UK and returns with a wife who be submissive to him for just a while! Just wait until her ticket expires, the VISA is stayed and she has found comfort in friends and the good old English way of life! Then he'll remember the old adage: the grass is always greener on the other side! There are numerous African beauties here in the UK willing and able to hold their own as well as be a submissive, obedient, loving and respectful wife and mother to his majesty. Save yourself alot of pain and choose not to determine the character of a future wife by her location.Wherever you are your wife and life partner will be there. All you need to do is be sensitive, kind, romantic, wise and prayerful.
